German Butchery (“GBdelivering”, “we”, “us”) operates the website germanbutchery.rw and the German Butchery mobile app. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our store and delivery service in Kigali, Rwanda, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Order & delivery details you provide at checkout: your name, phone number, email (optional), delivery address, sector/district, and any delivery notes or map location you share.
• Order information: the products you buy, quantities, prices, and order history.
• Payment information: your chosen method (pay on delivery, or MTN Mobile Money). Mobile Money payments are processed by MTN — we receive a confirmation of payment but we do not collect or store your Mobile Money PIN or full financial credentials.
• Account information: if you sign in (including with Google), we receive your name and email to identify your account.
• Technical information: basic device/browser data and cookies needed to keep your shopping cart and session working.

2. How we use your information

• To process, confirm, prepare and deliver your orders.
• To contact you about your order by phone, WhatsApp or email (for example, to confirm your address or delivery time).
• To take and confirm payment.
• To provide customer support and handle returns or complaints.
• To improve our products, service and website, and to keep the service secure.
• To send you offers or updates only where you have asked to receive them (for example by joining our WhatsApp updates). You can opt out at any time.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:

• Delivery: our delivery riders receive your name, phone number and address to deliver your order.
• Payments: MTN Mobile Money processes Mobile Money transactions.
• Service providers: our web hosting and, if you choose it, Google Sign-In and Google Maps for location.
• Legal: where required by law or to protect our rights, customers or safety.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies and your browser’s session storage to keep your cart and login working. We do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features (like your cart) may not work.

5. Data retention

We keep order and delivery records for as long as needed to provide the service, handle returns, and meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Security

Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to those who need it to serve you.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing messages. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable Rwandan data-protection law.

8. Children

Our service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
